The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you; the LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace. ~Numbers 6:24-6:26
I've been so blessed by the notes of encouragement and scripture cards given to me and sent by friends while in Alaska. I've decorated the cabinet by my desk with some of those notes and spend some time each day in the journal given to me before I left Illinois from my ladies Bible Study friends. The verse from Numbers was on one of the cards that popped up the other day. There's something about God's word that can encourage like little else can. Since we know that numbers are important to God, I decided to share the latest updates and things I've learned from Port Alsworth by the numbers!
Ministry Updates
60 This year is the 60th year of the ministry of Tanalian Bible Camp. I'm truly blessed to be serving here in the footsteps of so many dedicated people before me. I read this book about the ministry of the Stump family who stepped out in faith as a young family when God called them to live and share the gospel with the communities in the Iliamna area. In 1963, the first family conference was held which later turned into the ministry of Tanalian Bible Camp.
65 There are 65 days until the start of summer camp! We are actively preparing for the busy season ahead and looking forward to welcoming hundreds of campers and volunteers. This years theme is "Something Better". Jesus is truly something better and we are praying the campers come to know that deep in their hearts while they are here. 5 There are 5 TLC students will be are nearing the end of their year of biblical studies and vocational training. They are making decisions about their next steps. Two of the students will be going on a short term mission trip with a group from the local church to serve in Cambodia.

Personal Updates
125 That's my new address! PO Box 125 in Port Alsworth Alaska. It took a bit to get a new address because when you live in a small village and the post master goes on much needed vacation you wait until they get back. I learned there is only one official registered address in Port Alsworth so even if I didn't get a PO Box and mail is sent to General Delivery it still arrives (amazing!).
4 That's the number of inches of snow we got on the first day of spring. I'm adjusting to a new climate and God has been gracious. Walking to work when it's -8 degrees actually isn't too bad. And now 30 degrees feels like summer! Still probably won't go swimming the lake this summer though.
50 Lord willing, that's the number of days until I see Ellie again in person! This past week was her spring break and it was hard to not see her in person for that. She is planning to do an internship this summer at TBC and it will be a blessing to see her everyday for the 10 weeks she is here serving! Most likely I'll be back in IL the middle of May to help her make the transition from Taylor to Port Alsworth. I'd love to see as many of you as I can during that time.
Financial Support Update
God continues to blow me away with the generosity of so many people who are providing financial support to TBC to allow me to serve here. I'm within needing an additional $150 in monthly support to reach my next goal of being 75% funded!
It's a huge blessing to be able to be on site and serving in Port Alsworth and has provided ministry opportunities that aren't really possible while working from a distance.
Prayer Updates
Prayer is powerful! Thanks to all of you who have prayed and continue to faithfully pray for the ministry at TBC. Please join me in prayer for the following:
Praise for 60 years of ministry in the villages in southwest Alaska
Praise for the ways God is growing me and helping me adjust to all of the changes of living in Alaska
Praise for the spiritual growth of the TLC students
For the TLC students who are considering their next steps in life
For God to prepare the hearts of the campers, volunteers, and interns who will be coming this summer
For me to continue to adjust to a new role and to serve well at TBC
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR SUPPORT IN EVERY WAY!
