August 2022 update

Hello!

As many of you know I spent the summer at Tanalian Bible Camp (TBC) in Port Alsworth (PA) Alaska. It has become a place very near to my heart over the past several years of serving on short term mission trips there.

In April of 2022, I accepted a full time missionary position at TBC as the Business Manager, not fully knowing how God would work out the details. There were logistical obstacles and a lot of uncertainty of leaving the familiarity and comforts of the lower 48 including my dear church family and friends. It is also 3700 miles away from my daughter and I wasn’t sure my Momma heart could bear it. However, after much prayer and prompting from the Lord along with Ellie’s blessing, I made a commitment and have seen God bless me beyond measure ever since.

God paved the way for me to spend almost the entire summer camp season in PA and I have countless stories of how God is on the move in southwest Alaska. It was a privilege to watch Him plant seeds and work on the hearts of campers that will have an eternal impact. One of my campers from last year’s trip was baptized this summer! It was also amazing to watch Him sustain and provide for over 240 short term volunteers and the full time staff. I’ve never seen a better example of the body of Christ working collectively for Kingdom impact. The summer was full of praising God, hard work, and fellowship. If you are interested in hearing more, I’d love to connect and share some of the things God is doing and some possibly funny anecdotes of my first experiences of living in very rural Alaska!

Being a full time missionary was not something I would have ever thought would be in my future but God is good and sometimes leads us to places that we wouldn’t imagine. 1 Peter 4:10 tells us that “Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” God has called me to SW Alaska to serve and I long to fulfill that calling.

As is the case with most missionary positions, I am responsible for raising the financial support needed to fund my position at TBC and move to Port Alsworth. Through the generosity of my church and some dear friends, I am 25% of the way to meeting my ongoing monthly needs and about 10% of the way for my one time expenses. I’d ask you to prayerfully consider becoming a partner with me in the Kingdom work at TBC through prayer support and financially through a one time or recurring donation.

Stay tuned for more updates and hopefully some encouraging stories from the summer at TBC.

Thank you and God Bless!
Niki
